Sabre Virtual Meetings Makes Booking HD Conference Rooms Easier

By Rory Lidstone, TMCnet Contributing Writer

Technology provider for travel agencies and corporations, Sabre (News - Alert), recently announced the launch of a patent-pending platform which allows users to shop and schedule high definition video conference meetings from and to anywhere on the globe. Called Sabre Virtual Meetings, this world's first global video conferencing reservation system removes the difficulty from trying to book video conferences with an intuitive, cloud-based scheduling system.

Sabre Virtual Meetings leverages multiple telecom and video conferencing providers to allow for real-time shopping, live scheduling and confirmation simultaneously across multiple enterprises.

"Even though we're seeing some recovery in business travel, cost-conscious corporations still want to use HD video conferencing to improve collaboration and increase ROI on travel and technology investments," said Greg Webb, president of Sabre Travel Network, in a press release. "One of the biggest challenges they face is the inability to search, book and connect video conferencing systems. Sabre Virtual Meetings solves for that and makes it easy to set up internal video conferencing meetings and connect private-to-public or public-to-public rooms."

Sabre's virtual meeting platform is being launched and delivered through GetThere and Sabre Red Workspace, making it readily available to millions of business travelers and more than 220,000 travel agents around the world. As of September, GetThere corporate customers will have access to Sabre Virtual Meetings directly from their GetThere homepage.

Meanwhile, for travel agencies, Sabre has developed a new Virtual Meetings Red App which will soon be available via the company's newly launched Sabre Red App Center. This way, agencies can easily integrate Sabre Virtual Meetings into the Red Workspace.

Also recently, Sabre announced that it will preview a new user interface for its TripCase mobile app, featuring a clean design which will make it easier to navigate. The big unveil is to take place sometime this week during the 2012 Global Business Travel Association Conference in Boston, while an official launch won't occur until later in the year.
